it was already years passed by after i stumbled upon The Untamed. i remember seeing it on Netflix. it wasnt during the series airing in real-time too. i even learned about it under recommendation when i was watching Word Of Honor. that time, i dont have interest to watch the series even though i saw people are so hyping about it. i even x into Chinese BL, this may be the reason.
until weeks recently when Mo Dao Zu Shi anime appeared on my Youtube recommendation. i always like anime drawing. so, i easily clicked on it and bruh~ it was amazing.
the same day i look up for this series and try download it, for i always enjoy watching offline. too bad, the one that i found was geo blocked. thus subtitles cant be downloaded. todate, the one i have was not even 720p. but, its still ok.
i dont know about others. for me, since i x watch The Untamed (and still dont intend to watch) and i also x read the novel (i heard its 300++ pages, which is big fat bye bye), i cannot say anything about these versions. but, all i can say is, i really like the anime version. plus, the chibi - Mo Dao Zu Shi Q which is super duper cute. i completed only these versions.
i did watch some parts of The Untamed, especially the ending. and, some fmvs thumbnails which more or less gave clues of how LanZhan and WeiYing being portrayed in that version.
in my personal opinion, i like anime version better. one of reasons, is the headband which i prefer the anime version. the characters.. the effects of super powers.. the sceneries.. and many others. maybe cuz im fond of paintings and drawings. cgi effects frequently failed me, i x really like it. thats maybe reason i x indulge in The Untamed.
i dunno if drama/novel and anime version served/covered the same storyline, and i also x intend to find out haha. for me, the anime served me great enough. i cant believe i binge-watched all 35 episodes straight. and, still rewatching it.
